Why is your pee yellow?

Answer:
The more sugary drinks you drink the darker your urine will be. Especially if you drink Alcoholic beverages.
It will also have a strong smell associated with it.

If you drink plenty of water, your urine will come out clear and will not smell bad.

Keep in mind, urine is actually sterile fresh out the body. It is bacteria in the atmosphere which cause urine to have a bad odor.
IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ITS SUPOSED TO BE CLEAR DRINK MORE WATER HALF YOUR BODY WEGHT IN OZ
Its not supposed to be dark yellow or a darker yellow. Its supposed to be clear or light yellow. If yours is yellow than you are probably dehydrated. Drink more water and less sugary drinks. It will help!!
it means you are dehydrated!
it is not supposed to be yello, but the more dehydtarted you get the more yellow it gets due to the build up of AMMONIA in your urine,
so the answer to your question is... ammonia
Gabe C is on crack, it's suppose to be yellow. it's yellow because it has sodeium in it. sodeium has a little bit of sulfur in it and when it hits the air it turns yeallow, if it's clear than it has low levels of sodeium and sulfur.
That is half of a joke, "Why is pee yellow and sperm white".
So (insert the ethicnic group of your choice) will know if they are coming or going.

The yellow color in urine is due to chemicals called urobilins. These are the breakdown products of the bile pigment bilirubin. Bilirubin is itself a breakdown product of the heme part of hemoglobin from worn-out red blood cells. Most bilirubin is partly broken down in the liver, stored in the gall bladder, broken down some more in the intestines, and excreted in the feces (its metabolites are what make feces brown), but some remains in the bloodstream to be extracted by the kidneys where, converted to urobilins, it gives urine that familiar yellow tint. (Here is a great diagram of some of these reactions, from the Boehringer Mannheim Biochemical Pathways at ExPASy.)
drink more water and less soda and it will go back to normals
well it depend on wat you eat, if you eat very healthy food your pee turn white and if you eat not very healthy food your pee will turn yellow, i heard it on the food network
First, it is the normal color, not clear--clear means you are overhydrated--people often drink too much water. Just drink when you are thirsty, unless you are out in 100 degree temps.
Vitamin B2 is secreted out in your urine, and along with the other good answers re your question, it will cause the urine to be yellow. Found in many foods. If you take a multivitamin, you may find it to be bright yellow due to the excess B2 being eliminated.
